How many of you have paid for a gym membership that you very rarely use? Don't be afraid to admit it, I'm one of you too. And there are more and more people like us, especially with the ever increasing "fight obesity" campaigns nationwide. Maybe Britain does have an obesity problem, but celebrity chefs telling us what to eat and when to eat is not going to help. I am a firm believer in eating what you want, when you want. Just as long as you do the exercise to match it.

So, by our own admission, we are highly motivated to pay the money for the gym membership and that makes us very happy and we feel we have accomplished something. But two months down the line and the last time you used the gym was in the first week of the membership, that happiness turns into a dull pain, not to mention the monthly drain on the bank account.

I think, in order to get anywhere in the fight against obesity we should put the exercise equipment where we keep the food at home. Then, when we go to the kitchen to reach whatever food of choice from the fridge, the fitness equipment will cross our line of sight and we will be faced with a choice: do we eat the snack and then work it off using the gym equipment, or do we just put the snack back in the fridge. Either way, it is having a beneficial impact on our health.

And less of a detrimental impact on our bank accounts. I shudder at the thought that I was sat in the gym using some exercise equipment that smelly perspiring man had moistened especially for my use. Home exercising is much more hygienic you have control over the cleaning of your own fitness equipment.

You might think okay, I don't go to the gym, how can I convince myself to use the gym equipment at home? And the answer is: you'll feel guilty. You'll see the exercise equipment all the time and you can even use whilst watching a gourmet cooking programme and thinking about what to eat for dinner. It won't matter what you eat, because you're burning the calories off using the fitness equipment to make room for whatever delectable delights you want to reward yourself with.

Let's start being realistic why pay heavily for a gym membership, when you can bring the gym equipment to the home? It may even inspire family members, or even your partner, to shed a little of that excess weight. You could even maybe get them to pitch in with the cost of the equipment, because it will last you for life it's not just a year long membership. It is a life long investment which you can turn into a life long commitment. To yourself. So that is my plan eat what you want and exercise it away at home no people, no prep, no pressure. The easy solution.
