It is thought that the 'good' cholesterol wipes the arteries carrying the bad cholesterol away and depositing it in the liver once again. HDL or 'good' cholesterol also helps to remove the excess cholesterol from the plaques of the arteries and in this way its stops degeneration.

Now you can have an idea of the cholesterol treatment. Actually you have o take care of your food habits. It is the prime object to fight cholesterol. If you are on the danger zone the doctor may prescribe you some medications, fibrates and statins. To some extent they combat with the 'bad' cholesterol and help you to avoid coronary artery diseases.
