If your Macbook computer has a broken or cracked screen you need to have it replaced. If it broke on its own and it's still

under warranty you can return it to Apple and have them do it. If it isn't under warranty and you have Apple do it, the

repair will be very expensive. You can have a third party repair shop replace the screen, or you can do it yourself which is

the least expensive option. You can find replacements screen on the Internet. Here is how to replace the screen on your

Macbook computer.

To disassemble the Macbook computer you will need a very small Phillips head screwdriver. Start the disassembly the first

three screws that are located on the bottom of the Macbook computer.

Next, unscrew the screws that are located on the side of the Macbook computer. Then, unscrew the screws that are located on

the inside of the battery location.

You need to know that almost every screw in the MacBook computer goes in a unique location. You should carefully lay out each

screw in a pattern that represented how they went in the Macbook computer.

After you have removed all of the screws from the outer locations of the Macbook computer, remove the keyboard assembly. Then

disconnect the motherboard from the display. This may be difficult because there are delicate cables that connect the

motherboard to the monitor may be looped beneath more delicate internals such as the HD and the DVD ROM connections to the

motherboard. These connections are screwed in connections, not simply cable plugs.

Disconnect the motherboard connections from all of the display connections and carefully remove the broken display from the

Macbook computer.

To install the new screen in your Macbook computer just do the reverse. If, after you get your Macbook computer running

again, you happen to notice that the screen is dim, you forgot to plug in the backlight for the display. If you can't use the

CD drive you may have misplaced a component under the DVD/CD drive. These kinds of mistakes happen if you don't work slowly

and carefully, and work on a clean surface, not on the carpet.

However, you did manage to replace the screen in your Macbook computer and saved yourself a considerable amount of time and

money in the process. That makes you an expert in your own right.
