Is there one thing that might be standing in the way of you building your downline, or building your downline a LOT faster than you have been? The answer is an absolute YES!

If you don't have (and aren't using) a squeeze page (aka a data capture page or lead capture page), then you are missing out on one of the best tools to help you build your downline. If you have a squeeze page, but it is not converting as many leads as you would like, then making some key changes to it can immediately help you to build your downline faster.

Why is this so important? Why does your squeeze page matter so much?

You need to remember that two of the most important things you can do to build your downline faster is to position yourself as an expert, and to create trust and loyalty by creating a relationship with your list. Having an effective and properly written squeeze page puts you in the position to do both of these things.

There are a few key things you need to do (and that you need to absolutely AVOID doing) so that your squeeze page will be effective and will serve to build your downline faster. Here are some tips for writing a killer squeeze page:

1. Attract The Right Prospects: A squeeze page should be written to attract prospects who are looking for the BENEFIT that your product offers, i.e., looking for a solution to a problem that they have. It should NOT be written to attract people looking for a business opportunity. When you attract the right prospects, you will build your downline faster than you could have imagined AND you will have much higher retention rate on those you do put into your downline.

2. Have The Right Message: If you want to build your downline faster, then when you are writing your squeeze page you want to craft the copy so that it does two things: (1) it positions YOU as the expert in your niche, and (2) it offers a solution to a problem. Don't make the mistake of making your lead capture page be about selling ANYTHING. Also, be sure not to mention your company ANYWHERE on your squeeze page. You are not promoting the company or its business opportunity. You are promoting YOURSELF and the SOLUTION you offer. Period.

Remember that people will be much more inclined to submit their information to a person they perceive as having an answer to a problem much more than they will to a person who looks like they are out to do nothing more than try to sell them something. There will be plenty of time and opportunity later to introduce both the company and the business opportunity. Don't do it in your squeeze page though. When you make this switch in the focus of your message, you will generate more leads and will build your downline faster.

3. Create The Right Giveaway: Whatever you create to giveaway to each person who submits their information should be good content addressing something related to what you advertise on the lead capture page. Do not make it a thinly disguised sales pitch. It should be primarily content -- and great content at that.

When you are trying to build your downline faster, you need to start thinking about the lifetime value of each prospect. Your only objective with a squeeze page is to get the lead -- to get someone on to your list. You are not trying to sell them anything or recruit them into your business at this stage. You want to have them on your list so that you can begin a relationship with them, and develop trust with them. So you don't want to sabotage all of that by having the wrong message in your squeeze page and in your giveaway.
