Lane Kendall placed third in a 5K for his age group this past weekend in Brooklyn, New York's 100K Inline skate marathon that was held in Prospect Park. Lately Lane has appeared to be a force to be reckoned with placing forth or higher in the last three outdoor skate meets. He took first in Chantilly, VA's 5K and in Trexlertown, which was his very first outdoor meet, he placed fourth overall. As a part of Olympic Speed Team based out of Enola, PA, Lane will continue his quest at many more inline-skate meets.

The upcoming events that this 6th grader at Forbes Road Elementary school is looking forward to is his first indoor meet in Enola, PA on October 10th; continuing onto Richmond, VA, Hagerstown, MD, and Roanoke, VA to name a few. When asked why he enjoys skating he replies, "It is fun exercise," with the goal of the Olympic Games he trains hard practicing almost daily. He has set the goal of making it to the National competition this year being held in Fort Wayne, IN, therefore; he will be holding many fundraisers to assist himself as well as the remaining team members with the expense of this goal.

The speed team does various other fundraisers throughout the year such as Wolfgang candy bars, pizza sales, money raffles, etc. The team is a volunteer based team so donations are greatly appreciated and can be tax deductible. Please contact the Olympic skating rink, Enola Pennsylvaniaif you should desire to donate to the inline speed team.
