It is handy and comes in different models.

We all may have a sufficient supply of weapons such as shotguns, revolvers or semi-automatic rifles but we really would hate to use them if an alternative solution were at hand. These weapons would be our last choice and we would prefer to keep them as that last resort. A better means may be by using either a stun gun or a taser for the job at hand. These are handy items to keep in your home, your bug out vehicle, or in your emergency preparedness kit.

Stun guns

Many people do not understand what the difference is between a stun gun and a taser. The concepts revolve mostly upon the amount of voltage and current used by each device. As an example, a stun gun has between 50,000 and several million volts which are applied to the two contacts. This may sound like a lot of voltage but that is only its instantaneous voltage. Upon contact with the skin the voltage of a stun gun will drop drastically to approximately 2300 volts. Although drastically reduced it is still an effective amount of voltage to get the job done. It isn't really the voltage that is of concern with these types of weapons but rather the applied current.
