subject: Let Your Emails Close The Deals (part 2) [print this page]

In this article, I will continue to talk about techniques and devices that will help you achieve your sales in your email. With these effective and easy to implement tips, you will find yourself one step closer to sealing the deal with your customers.

1.Avoid flat languages

When you use there is, it is, you put unnecessary distance between you and your readers. To use it once or twice in your email is okay. Look for opportunities to be flexible and add a more dynamic element to your language.

2.Personalize it

Use your customers name in the body of the email once. Best to place it at the end of the email at the call to action. This personalizes the email and brings down the defense your readers may have of you. However, if you use it more than once, you will sound like a salesperson.

3.Play it up

Use the ellipsis () and the em dash (--) to emphasize on an important phrase in your email. Use these techniques when you are trying to draw attention or add drama to the email.

4.Expand or compress time

Play with the units of time. 60 minutes appear to be of less time than an hour because minutes are a smaller unit than hour. So when emphasizing the speed of service or delivery, use minutes; when offering a service for a impressive length of time, use hours.

5.Play the percentages

You can make statistics seem more impressive by rephrasing to add impact. For example, instead of 10 percent of our customers, use 1 in 10 customers. 10 percent may not sound a lot, but 1 in 10 does. Simplify the ratio to the simplest form so that it can be easily understood.

Now that you have received tips on how to boost your internet marketing business, I have an interesting story to share.

A miser bought a piece of gold with all his hard earned money, which he buried in the ground beside an old well. He visits the site daily.

One of his friends noticed he visited the site often and decided to spy on his actions. He soon found out the location of the gold and stole it.

The miser, upon the next visit, wailed in sadness when he found the hole empty and his gold gone.

A neighbor, seeing him full of sadness and grief, and learning the reason why, said Go and put a stone in the hole and pretend the gold is still there. This will make you feel the same as before; when the gold was in the hole, you did not make use of it.
