Diabetes is a condition whereby the glucose is accumulated in our blood cells. This is mainly due to genetic problems or the glucose is unable to be absorbed by insulin, a hormone in our body which is usually produced in the pancreas. However, this can be cured in times by following healthy lifestyle such as balanced diet and exercises. This article will explain to you the basic diabetic menu plans that you should follow to balance up the glucose content in your body.

Fruits and Vegetables

You should consume more fruits and vegetables as they are rich in vitamins and nutrients. This is a good diet plan which has low sugar content as well as fat.

Carbohydrate

As a diabetes patient, you must take more carbohydrate. Since the body is unable to absorb the glucose content and turn it into energy, you should consume more carbohydrate and protein such as meat and fish to energize your body.

Avoid High Sugar and Fat Content

You shouldnt take food with high sugar and fat content. Try to use vegetables or corn oil which is healthier in your cooking. Anyway, steam, bake and grill would be better than fry. Do not take too much of canned drinks and sweets as the sugar content is very high.

Salad or Yogurt

Balanced diet neednt have to be dull and tasteless. You can always prepare a healthy salad which consists of fruits, vegetables, tomatoes or cucumbers. Add some mayonnaise or thousand islands to make it taste nicer. A basic diabetic menu plan does include yogurts as well.

Drink More Water

Besides that, you should drink plenty of water. A good practice is to take at least 6-8 glasses of water per day. Drink lots of water is good to cleanse your body toxin and hydrate your body.
