You need to be careful not to over use the television and forget about homework and studying. You can use the TV as a reward system as well. For example, you can study for 2 hour and promise yourself 30 minutes of TV time to reward yourself for studying.
Another item would be a mini fridge. Allow it is not always necessary it can really make your life a lot easier. It allows you to keep leftover, which as a college student, can be a life saver. You can also keep fresh snacks such as fruits, bread, peanut butter, etc. Even if you have a pass to the cafeteria you may get sick of their food and they usually do not allow you to take snacks with you. Even if they do where would you put them? Another good use is to keep drinks cold, such as, soda, water, and juice. After a long study session or day of classes it is nice to come back to a cold soda or water.
There are always the obvious items such as your computer, desk, and bed but almost every dorm room will have those items. If you want to separate your dorm form the others and create the ultimate dorm room you should have a TV and min fridge. Don't forget to bring other things such as an electric dartboard, picture board, mini basketball hoop for behind the door, or even a mini coffee maker would come in handy during the all nighters.
