subject: Pakistan is an Islamic State or Not? [print this page]

The Islamic Republic of Pakistan a country name, located in heart of Muslim World gives us an impression of a territory governed by Muslim Leaders, the laws and supervision done according to the Holy Quran and Sunnah, but when faced with realities of life one sees the ignorance through out the country of the basic ideology on which the birth of this country took place.

During the struggle for Pakistan our slogan of Islamic Ideology was not defined: It was not very necessary to do so then. After the establishment of Pakistan, it became absolutely essential that the slogan should be determined and defined categorically because otherwise even the first step towards achieving the objective of Pakistan could not be taken. But we ignored the objective, and selfishly operated the system working merely for personal benefits forgetting national interest and objectives.

The constituent assemblies failed to promote the correct meaning of Islamic Ideology and ran state according to their own wishes. Whereas this was not meant to be just an idea as Islam is a system by which Muslims are supposed to lead their life. Even in Quran the word Addeen instead of Deen for Islam is used, which means a particular way of life.

The debate here is not should Pakistan be an Islamic State or not, instead it should be Is Pakistan an Islamic State or not? Despite being born with the name of Islamic Republic our country is not governed by the rules of Quran and Sunnah. Even the Mullah's who are supposed to be the custodian of Islamic laws, who are supposed to be the opponent of un Islamic laws are in state of dilemma themselves considered as so called Terrorist by the Westerners. We as a country forgetting our roots, our basic teachings are merely in today's World the puppets of Westerners. It's not only the fault of leaders, it's the fault of people who have closed their ears and eyes and doesn't want their mind to think or protest against the wrong.

Today the citizens of Pakistan are just living for themselves, being distorted in the hands of foreigners since the state has completely become secular. If from start the leaders had portrayed the correct meaning of Islamic State and worked according to the Holy book and Sunnah, this day Pakistan would've been in a great condition, not running clueless for foreign aid here and there. The economy could have been strong, each and every sector could have been functioning properly without corruption and bribery, citizens would be satisfied and overall the country could be easily identified among the developed countries, but it's not seen yet.

It's still not too late; Pakistan can truly become an Islamic State if we the people raise our voices together and make it heard to the Government we can still save our state from becoming completely secular and removing Islamic guidelines from decision making of the Government. Thus, in my opinion Pakistan can still become an Islamic State as it has been rooted from this ideology.
