I'm originally from South Yorkshire, from a farming family so am use seeing Land Rovers and Range Rovers but not in the same context as I see them now a days. Now that I've moved to London I see Range Rovers being utilised by mums to do the school run or as a general mode of transport.
When I was growing up Range Rovers were used to ferry around farming plant, live stock or to pull trailers, so to see them being used as an everyday vehicle was a bit of a surprise to me. Saying that though, it has evolved over the years from a farmer's vehicle to a prestigious passenger vehicle.
I used to admire the Range Rover because of its strength, agility and power to get things done, I now admire it because of the way it looks and stands out amongst the busy London traffic yet maintain its original work horse characteristics.
I can see why Chelsea mums love the Range Rover, its higher up than most cars, very solid and its size is just dominating. In a Range Rover you feel secure, comfortable and reassured no matter what the terrain you will reach your destination safely, in comfort as well as in style.
When I do eventually get my full driving license I think a Range Rover will be my 2nd car, they are not that expensive, I have seen a few Cheap Range Rovers in Wiltshire, a bit of a trek from London but definitely worth it.
