The former world car of the year is set to get a face lift, and it will be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show next month.

The most obvious change from a styling point of view with the new Mazda 2 is the change to the front which now adopts the latest Mazda family look'. The cabin has also been upgraded so that it's more sleek and more comfortable than ever before.

The Mazda technicians have also adjusted the chassis so that it offers motorists a more comfortable drive. For all of those automatic lovers out there you'll be glad to hear that the Mazda 2 now comes with an automatic gear box for the first time too.

For all of those who are interested in preserving their fuel and interested in protecting the environment you'll be pleased to hear that the Mazda2 engines all meet the Euro V emissions standard.

The Mazda 2 really is an ideal city car, it's small enough that you can nip through the city and park in the smallest spaces and is also really fun to drive.

The new-look and slightly modified Mazda2 goes on sale in the UK in October.

Just think if the previous model won the prestigious World Car of the Year award, just think what this one's like!

Mazda have clearly been busy these past few months as their new 5 MPV is set to go on sale a month later. It's their 7 seat MPV which features easy-access sliding doors and a fuel efficient 1.6-litre diesel engine. So keep an eye out for that one too.
