subject: Things that affect Employment Personality Tests results [print this page]

Employment personality tests are being used in almost companies. This helps them in the process of selecting effective employees. Although there are applicants who question the test's capability to qualify them for a position, a majority still believes that it is effective. Results can not be manipulated by the employers. They would be very happy to find one that actually passes their standards, so why would they change that?

Most of employment personality tests possess questions so easy to answer that anyone can easily manipulate it. One example is the true and false type tests. The question can be like "I get very upset when things do not go my way." You, in your right mind, would never answer false. It is such a practical question that it may provide you different results than what your real personality type is.

The goals of these tests are not hard to recognize. If you are taking one to be able to qualify for a job position, you would definitely answer the questions to the best of your ability and choose the best answers all the time. But if it does not really matter to you, you would choose just any answer without thinking about them. The purpose can control how the test would turn out.

It is quite difficult to answer questions that ask about how other people see you. One example is "People perceive you as very hardworking". You would not now what they think of you unless you let them answer it for you. The questions affect results as well. That is why it is important for companies to make sure they are facilitating effective employment personality tests.

What happens at home and on the road while you are on your way to work can also affect test results. You can not help it if you wake up in the wrong side of the bed or if your breakfast is a little burnt. You may encounter traffic jam and get in a fight with a reckless driver. Arriving in the workplace, you might trip on something that someone else forgot to put aside. A lot of things may happen that may affect your mood before taking a test. The results may differ from when you come to work in a good mood.
