subject: Prospecting With A Purpose [print this page]

Prospecting according to the "Webster's New World College Dictionary",To (A) explore or to search,(B)To have a mental view or to examine. As you look carefully at your candidate,be very real. This is not a time to pretend, its is a time to be very real. This is the moment of truth. Here are some questions that you might be asking yourself," Is this person right for my Business? will this person be an asset or a liability? Does this person have a passion for success?. I am not trying to be exhaustive, but I hope the point will be crystal clear as to why this prospect should be a part of your growing and thriving Enterprise.

In doing the work of prospecting, it is careful and precise. It is not working from the point of desperation, but from the point of opportunity and fortunate.Think for a moment of when you met that dream person, the one you have been searching for, the one who you thought was going to be that final piece of the puzzle to your relationship building.Hopefully both of you concluded that you were both fortunate to discover each other, and it wasn't out of desperation(hope not). There were certain qualities you were looking for, and finally they are what you were looking for.Now there is something call compromise, but here is a word of caution, there should be certain things you should never, never compromise on. Those are the things that you know,if they are not present will be detrimental to the relationship. In your business the prospect that you are looking for, should reflect the core values of your business. To compromise on this for the sake of having a body or having a number will cause you more sorrow than good.

As you continue to prospect, you should always have a mental picture of the kind person you want on your team.Always conduct an interview, even when you think you know the person.Ask the questions and listen actively for the answer, and when you are not sure ask for clarification, because if you are going to err, do it on the side of caution. Also be very observant of body language, remember action speaks louder than word. This is your business, this business is a reflection of who you are, and what you want that prospect to be,law-of-attraction.jpg a representation of you, until they are able to brand them self.
