I'm always short on timeI'm always short on time. I have some classic brick and mortar businesses, and I give most of time doing online. Last time I've giving some time doing work on this blog and re-organizing myself in Internet.

What I do in the morning, I let out my four dogs, take a coffee and grab a bagel, then go upstairs and turn on my PC. Some days I will need to leave my home about 9.00 AM and be somewhere, and some days I spend all my time in my home. Either way I do three things every day in the morning after browsing over my emails. First I will publish an article to five distinct article sites. This will make sure that a constant of another new one-way links to this website is produced.

After that I open my RSS reader and look around for a bit on forums and blogs to get to know latest stuff. I have my notebook beside my PC and jot down contents that really can be put to use later.

Most host accounts provide a simple site log analysis program which is called Awstats. I've been thinking for a while whether the hit counts and other things really accurate, but it doesn't bother much because what I'm looking for is not numbers but trends.

It does help you earn more cash to review and understand your site traffic logs. You can do it by modifying your site to ensure that it suits with the needs of your visitors.

I sort out the countries and observe the flags because in my opinions it's cool. Then I go to the section that send you the robots visiting your site. I ensure every one of them really been there recently (most important Google), and I jot down if there has something wrong. Lately I discovered that one of the minor robots did not visit my site, so I go through my site and did a listing. Whenever you're wondering about every robots available there, navigate to Robotstxt.com and give it a look. Ensure that major robots listed there have visited your site in the last month. If it's the other way, you have to get them there. I've realized that MSN, Yahoo and Google (in that order) come to my site the most. You require usual robot visits to make sure your recent content is indexed and can be reached to prospective visitors.

Let's get to the enjoyable part - the list of most-visited pages. This explains which content people really interested in, and which content that are not. The most viewed post on AffiliateBlog was the Ten Top Paying Programs at Commission Junction This Week. Strangely, same post related to Shareasale is much below down the list, which came out that public want to know about top paying programs as well as about Commission Junction. As usual I pay attention for posts that rise up the line quick, and I usually take attention of them to came out with another post that my visitors might love.

I get some search engine traffic but not much, so I glance at the keywords. Judging by some of the keywords that appear there, this section isn't very accurate.

I gain only a few search engine traffic, therefore I take a look at the keywords. Base on the keywords that show up there, this part isn't very targeted.

Still there? Okay..focus now. Here's how you have to do to multiply your traffic, get some partners to work with and acquire some great insights from your visitors' mind. Get down to the part that lists you the external web sites where they are coming from. Take it in mind.. this is where the visitors know and how they see something related to you and clicked on that.

Browse through all the list. I observed for blog sites, web sites, social bookmarking sites (like del.icio.us) and forums which never showed up before or have climb up quick. I go to the link and find out the origin. After that I look for the context how my website shows up.

Like what I do for public who trackback my blog (refer to it in their blog), I navigate each link, obtain an email address and give them short email to the person as a token of appreciation for their time in mentioning my site. Nothing fancy - just a short thanks will do.

They respond to it really well and terrific. I'd say that most of them (probably 80%) responded to me really amazing because I find the time to appreciate what they've done for me. It would be nice because whenever somebody spends some time to recommend you, you can at least shows some gratitude for the recommendation and really thankful for it.

I like the site list because I discover a bit of really amazing stuffs. I will give you example, my trackback to Google's blog after they brought Writely really listed on the Google blog page and gave me quite traffic. Also I am able to get on the main page of del.icio.us for quite some time..long enought to obtain quite hits too. It's quite a nice stuff and it's quite enjoyable to go through.

Last on that I find out.. I discovered that the visitors bookmarking my page amounts to 7 - 10%, which is quite good. Same thing goes for my RSS feed list at Feedburner which at about same range throughout the month, this shows that more people bookmark the site rather than sign up for RSS feeds. I've thinking about it all month, and it comes to my conclusion that most of my visitors don't regularly use RSS.

Know you know that there's a lot of things you can learn only from that log file - you will have to go through it carefully and give your brain some exercise.
