An electric heater is 100% efficient because it's heat output equals the amount of electricity it uses. Since it's easy to find an electric outlet to plug them up, electric heaters are the most popular.

An electric heater costs only a few dollars a day to use. There are many different types in a wide price range. You can find a space heater to do what you need it to do. You may have different needs within the same house. Space heater types range from ones that fit under your desk to industrial workshop types to elegant fireplaces. Figure out what you need your space heater to do and then go find one to do it.

Almost all electric heaters are portable. There are even wheels on the large ones so they can easily be moved. They are easy to operate, you just plug it in. Most have thermostats that allow you to regulate the temperature so you don't waste the heat produced. When the chilly season is over, you just need to find a small space in which to store your heater for the next season.

Keep in mind certain things when using an electric space heater. If you follow basic safety rules and precautions, you shouldn't have any trouble with your space heater. Make sure the UL sticker is on the appliance. Do not use money as an excuse for using an unsafe heater. Keep curtains, clothes and other flammable items at least 3 feet away from the heater.

Space heaters can take up a lot of power. Don't overload your electrical outlets. Use a good surge protector and try not to plug anything else into the outlets where you are connecting the heater. If you have to use an extension cord, make sure you use a good 12 or 14 gauge cord.

No one heater can be called the best space heater because what's good for one may not be for the other. No one space heater will be able to fill all the different needs. If you're looking for a heater that keep your feet warm, look for one that will do just that. A heater with a fan will heat a whole room quickly. Portable space heaters are well worth the investment that you make. They are a good investment.
