Dubai is well integrated in the international world not only as an important Arab country and oil exporter, but also as a financial, commercial and even cultural hub. Whilst being open to modern ideas and new trends, it has still managed to maintain high standards of local historic and cultural values.

As part of this drive, the Green Art Gallery, which was inaugurated in 1995, was set up as a platform from which to nurture the talents and livelihoods of up and coming artists in Dubai. This mission, as can be seen now many years down the line, has been amply fulfilled.

The gallery brings together a large base of collectors and focuses primarily on Arab artists of a contemporary nature. These artists are then guided in how to exhibit their art as well as how to promote their art and themselves globally. As the Green Art Gallery has opened its doors for artists from all over the region, many from Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Morocco, and the UAE have benefited immensely.

In fact artists such as Hakim Ghazali from Morocco, Fateh Moudarres from Syria and Ismail Fattah from Iraq and many more have all gone on to make a tremendous mark for themselves regionally as well as internationally. This has been purely through the efforts and perseverance of the Green Art Gallery.

Works exhibited at the gallery consist chiefly of Arabic inspired art. Sculptures, hand crafted items, paintings, prints of a limited edition and original art are all found at the gallery. Certain art from the private Green Art Gallery collection are on exhibition on a rotational basis.

Visitors to Dubai must make an effort to visit the Green Art Gallery to truly gain a sense of the Arab culture, history, people and heritage. If such visitors seek luxury accommodation Dubai then a stunning masterpiece of old meets new in the form of the Raffles Dubai, UAE will be an ideal Dubai hotel from which to base themselves.
