It is bordered by Heilongjiang on the north, Liaoniang to the south, Inner Mongolia on the west and North Korea on the east. 1. Changchun

Being the capital city of Jilin Province with clivia as its city flower, Changchun is the political, economic and cultural center. 2. Baicheng
Located in the northwest of Jilin Province, Baicheng City neighbors Songyuan City in the southeast, bordered by Inner Mongolia in the southwest and northwest and by Heilongjiang Province in the northeast.History: In the latter years of the Neolithic Age, there were humans living in the region. Before it was held under the administration of supervision offices of the Tang Dynasty (618-907), Baicheng was inhabited by several nomad tribes in northeastern China, including Donghu, Huimo, Xianbei, Kitan and Shiwei.
3. Baishan
Location: Baishan is a beautiful city located in the west of Changbai Mountain in southeast Jilin. It is neighbor to cities of Yanbian, Tonghua and Jilin. Yalujiang River separates it from North Korea in the south. History: As early as the Neolithic Age, human beings started to live in this area. It once belonged to different provinces including Fengtian, Tonghua, Liaoning in the early 20th century. In 1959, Jilin government set up Hunjiang City in this area, starting the history of its belonging to Jilin Province. In 1994, the city name of Hunjiang was changed into Baishan.
4. Liaoyuan
History: Liaoyuan was the location of the imperial Shengjing Paddock of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). In 1902, county was first established here called Xi'an. In 1952, it was changed to Liaoyuan City as the Liaohe River originates from it. Physical Features: Situated in the transition area from offshoots of the Changbai Mountains to Songliao Plain, the city belongs to low mountainous and hilly area.
5.Siping
History: Since the Shang Dynasty (16th-11th century BC), this region had been inhabited by settlers. Historically, it was inhabited successively by Fuyu, Korean, Kitanyes, Jurchen, Mongolian, Manchu and kingdoms of these ancient ethnic minorities in Northeast China. Physical Features: Located in the hinterland of Songliao Plain, nearly eighty percent of the city's territory is occupied by plain area, while hilly area is in the second place, at a percentage of fifteen. Mountains only account of six percent. On the whole, the terrain of the city declines from southeast to northwest.
