Why us? Veena has grown her company (Vividha) over the last 9 years and has helped empower rural women to gain financial freedom and support their entire family. In the 2 factories at Vishakapatnam in Andhra Pradesh (one in Anakapalli and one in Pendurthis, both rural districts), she employs over 250 rural women who have been trained in stitching, packaging and embroidery. This initiative, with the help of the state government's District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), is meant only for the employment of women. It has been a metamorphic journey for many of the socially and economically backward rural women who are now financially independent. With continued growth, Veena hopes to soon add another 100 women to her work force and open a crche on site later this year to offer further help and support to her amazing team.
