For example, kofte (lamb meat balls) has regional variations and some are even simply named after the city or town they originate like Izmir kofte, Inegol kofte or Adana kofte. She shares the main differences in ingredients due to region, history and culture.

The cooking classes delve into unique and authentic ingredients such as pomegranate molasses or isot red pepper spice and teach students how to use them in the dishes made in the cooking class but also how to transfer these tasty ingredients into modern Australian cuisine.

In addition to learning Turkish recipes, Turkish Thyme's aim is to enrich its students with knowledge about Turkish food and ingredients so that they can transfer techniques and Turkish flavours into their daily cooking ensuring healthy and tasty eating with a difference.
