I think its safe to say that flying is the ultimate head trip for a huge number of people. There is something peacefully serene, even spiritual, about being suspended 1000s of feet away from all the problems on the earth below and darting through wispy clouds and seeing sunsets like few on earth ever see.
Unfortunately it is also true that flying is one expensive hobby. Not everyone can afford it. However, with the technological advances in recent years, good flight sim games offer an extraordinarily realistic flying experience and are well within the financial grasp of many people that are really serious about flying.
I am not really aware of your personal level of flying experience, but most people requesting this video series and reading these articles are either new to flying or at the level of beginner to intermediate.
The first, most logical and inexpensive step for the majority of readers is to get a really good Flight Simulation Game and get started gaining experience from your laptop or desktop PC (or Mac) without any add-on equipment.
Then as you get better and better, you may want to step up your game a little with a joystick, H.O.T.A.S, yoke, throttle quadrant or rudder pedals.
