subject: 5 Rites - Fountain Of Youth: True Or False? [print this page] You may have heard of something called the 5 rites as being the fountain of youth. But what are these 5 rites and will they really keep you young forever?
Well, forever is (as we all know) a long time. And if someone had invented a way to keep us young for all eternity, you can bet that it would be being marketed to you with a suitably high price tag. So, in that respect, the answer is no.
But if we examine the 5 rites a bit more, it's possible to find out why they claim to be a big part of the secret of staying young and therefore they can lay at least some claim to being a fountain of youth.
The 5 rites are ancient Tibetan exercises. They date back to before the birth of Christ and are also said to be the predecessor of yoga.
The Tibetan rituals were popularized in the 1930's when Peter Kelder published a pamphlet called The Eye of Revelation which described the exercises in detail and included illustrations to make his descriptions easier to follow.
The rituals are relatively easy to carry out and like most exercise regimes they build up over time so that you get chance to get used to them before you go on to the next level.
Most people report that the 5 rites have helped them to stay fit and agile, so in that sense at least they are definitely part of the secret fountain of youth. They're certainly worth a try!
