subject: Extracurricular Activities: Reading and Watching Movies [print this page]

When students have to acquire much information for further learning, they can get tired and be depressed. When a person is depressed, it is necessary to take appropriate measures to cure him/her because a clinical depression is more serious than just a condition of being dissatisfied. In this respect, it is necessary to learn to stay focused when it is required for a learning process. However, it is necessary to know a good way to relax. Do not think about drugs and alcohol because these issues lead to addiction and a reduced productivity resulting in a poor academic progress. Extracurricular activities are just what you need to reload your brain and start all over again. Reading books You can like reading books and have little time for that due to your curriculum. Besides, you have to read the sources that are required for writing a research paper or an argumentative essay. You cannot afford reading the books you would like to. Just the opposite, you should distract yourself from constant learning because you should have some rest. You have to have some free time so that your brain could process the information acquired during the day. Watching movies You can watch movies for the same purpose as reading books. You can choose the latest movies or get the old and the most favorite ones from your personal film collection. Some academic courses need an overview or a critique of a movie to be written. In this respect, you are required to watch one of the classic movies of a certain genre or starring definite actors. All extracurricular activities can be academic courses, groups, and societies or your favorite activities that make you feel better. When you can relax, you can be more productive in learning.
