Stranger Than Fiction is another movie of his that I absolutely loved. This is a departure from the traditional comedy for Ferrell, as it is quite dramatic and takes a turn for the serious. It also doesn't hurt that one of my favorite bands, Spoon, is heavily featured on the soundtrack.
One other great movie that I would include on this list is Semi-Pro. I thought this was going to be a dumb comedy, and while it is, it is funnier than I expected it to be. Woody Harrelson was a pleasant surprise.
