subject: Extra Help Where Students Often Need It [print this page] I have always loved to learn, and it really showed. My high school average was 92, which is an A, but I have always had the problem of being a procrastinator and waiting until the very last moment to get the job done.
In my opinion, many of the required reading material, even in my favorite classes, were nothing but a pointless waste of time. Therefore, even though I loved learning, I would have a difficult time approaching such assignments because of my sincere dislike of the material.
I know that it is not an excuse, but that is why I neglected such work until the very last minute.
Thank goodness for that afternoon lunch break. I have been stuck in the worst kinds of situations when it came to high school homework, but I always knew that I could count on that afternoon lunch break to do any kind of work or report for an afternoon class.
There is one other thing that I could count on at every such lunch break; it is called Cliff's Notes. Cliff's Notes was a series of publications that summarized different books and provided something of an analysis on the piece. With Cliff's Notes, I would be able to quickly gain knowledge of the material and a basic understanding of it, although I cared nothing for it.
With the help that I got from Cliff's Notes, I was able to right an essay that correctly addressed the questions asked and was able to write a thorough analysis of material that I had never read.
Today, so much more is out there for any student in a bind looking for some quick help writing a paper for high school or college. Online, one can get information for practically anything, even for very specified topics.
Needless to say, this is not the best of work ethic. However, it may be, sometimes, absolutely necessary because of the difficulty in balancing extra-curricular activities and the like. Help like this could make all the difference.
