1. You can take a casual and informal approach when it comes to a save-the-date. More importantly, you need to keep your save-the-date template short and simple. Just include details like your names, wedding date and location. If you have not decided on where exactly your wedding will be held, it is enough to just include the city and state.

2. If space permits, you may want to include a short romantic quote or poem. Normally it should appear at the bottom of your save-the-date, but you call the shots, put it wherever you deem fit.

3. You may want to include at the footer that a formal invitation will follow, so that people dont panic when they dont get the full information they need to be present at your wedding.
