subject: Sinus Irrigator Can Kill The Fungus In Your Nasal Passages [print this page]

There is nothing better than education and that is especially true when it comes to your health. The ability of fungus to grow in your nose is not something that should be ignored. It is important to learn the why and the how and be prepared in case that ever happens. Many of the diseases which are usually chronic are happening only because fungus is present in the nostrils. This can be easily mistaken for a different sickness and will not respond well to treatments.

Neti Pots and the process of nose rinsing is great for people who possess reoccurring bouts of chronic allergies. It is the small air particles like dust mites, pet dander, and pollen that tend to irritate the nasal cavities. These small debris bind to the walls of the sinus cavities, and with time help bacteria that is also present multiply. The other more unpleasant side effect is also the growth of fungus. It is hard for some people to imagine, but fungus is present everywhere.

The problem with beating fungus or catching it is its ability to travel through the air. Mold and fungus spores are light and can be found almost anywhere near its source even if you are not in the same building. As they enter your nose the reproduction process happens very quickly and can cause unbearable problems and pain normally found in chronic sinus infections.

The unfortunate thing is that most medical practitioners do not recommend healthy alternatives such as the sinus irrigator or neti pot and stick to hard drugs and nasal sprays. These do work at correcting the symptoms but do not provide a way to take care of the root of the problem. This can easily then become a chronic illness and will only escalate as these drugs will tend to stop working as effectively when the fungus spreads.

The natural treatment method comprises of flushing out your nasal cavities with a specifically selected mix of saline nasal solution. This can be done by other tools than the neti pot such as sinus irrigation systems but I tend to not think of those as very natural. It is healthier in my opinion to have the gravity do its work, and not force water electrically into your nostrils. When looking for any options though, it is wise to first go and consult with your doctor. It might be something that can be stopped early and naturally before it becomes a chronic nuisance.
