subject: Change The Little Things In Your Bathroom First [print this page]

The bathroom is a popular roomThe bathroom is a popular room. Some homes have more bathrooms than bedrooms. Most people notice the major items such as the shower, tub and vanity. The small accessories are important also. We take them for granted but the little things can make a bigger impact than most think.

Imagine a bathroom without a soap dish, toothbrush holder, shower curtain, or towel rack. Without them, we wouldn't be able to function well, but we only give these items a passing thought. Usually we make sure the colors match and then move on. Upgrading some of these small accessories can give your bathroom a needed face lift.

Since we spend a lot of time in the bathroom, we should make it as comfortable and as enjoyable as possible. Just like you spend money to have your bedspreads and pillows and curtains match in your bedroom, you should spend the time and money to have good accessories in your bathroom.

You might spend about $75 for a nice upgrade to your sink, but it could become the piece that everyone is talking about. Everyone who visits will be talking about your new remodeled bath room. The little upgrades might just make your house easier to sell when that time comes.

The shower curtain is the largest item in your bathroom but it is the most ignored. Try a fabric shower curtain with a liner instead of your basic plastic kind. Your bathroom will have an added touch of class.

There are other options to the traditional shower curtain call hookless shower curtains. There are many different kinds of hookless shower curtains. Snap on curtains fold over the the top of the curtain rod and the ends snap together. Another type of curtain has large holes that the rod goes through. The curtain top accordions back and forth on the rail. Instead of hooks you can use ties. This will give your bathroom a comfortable, homey look.

The shower curtain is the largest piece in your bathroom and everything else should match the design and colors of the curtain. Don't just settle for one plain color, be creative, be exciting, make your bathroom sparkle. Look around your bathroom and think of other small items that you can change or upgrade. You might find that for a little amount of money your bathroom can look new.
