subject: The Power Within Abstract Art Prints [print this page]

Paintings are of two different types in general, either abstract or representational. In this particular way of thinking, it is not really necessary for a picture to tell the story for us and it can be interpreted by a particular individual. Abstract art prints are known for their display of vibrant color and they can add culture and style to any type of decor.

It is not feasible for most of us to own original works of art done by the masters to put on display in the living room. This does not have to keep us from experiencing the beauty of the art and what they intended for everyone to enjoy. Prints that are high quality and available at affordable prices can be purchased and then framed so that anyone can have the experience each artist intended.

At its time of creation this type of art was not as greatly appreciated as it has come to be now. Like with many forms of genius these creators were far ahead of their time. Simple lines and familiar shapes have been combined with color to create unique images that intrigue us and our imagination to inspire everyone that views them.

Many different styles are available and choosing the right piece can make a conversation piece for a room. Each artist has a developed and individual subject preference, style, texture preference and color preference. This may play a large part in making choices when decorating and if planning to decorate in a modern style there is plenty available to choose from.

Many styles exist within this category which includes cubist, abstract expressionism, modern art, expressionist art and even pop art, but these are just a few. There are numerous famous artists that have provided works in this area like Georgia O'Keefe, Jackson Pollack, Mark Rothko and Pablo Picasso. There are times when differentiation between impressionism and abstract is difficult and Monet often falls into this category.

The Water Lilies series by Monet was an inspiration to other abstract artists. His paintings were mural sized and took the remainder of his life to complete. Inspiration seemed to come for him from his home in Giverny.

Picasso is one of the creators of cubism and this is one of the things that he is best known for. His belief was that art was some kind of lie that allowed people to see truth that it provided for them. His works can be found divided into periods by his life. Many prints are available for purchase by Picasso online and in different periods.
