subject: Things To Say When You Just Don't Know What To Say In The First Place [print this page]

It is kind of frustrating in a way that you are dating someone who is not a natural talker or a shy-silent type of person. You have tries your best to say something and suggest some stories for both of you to discuss and your date really is not saying that much about it.

It is often suggested that in cases like this, you have to initiate small talks. Small talks consist of things like what she likes, dislikes, and stuff like what she do in a day and so on. Once you have started the small talk between you and your date, then you can now discuss a couple of additional thinks like common interest and experiences.

But it is quite a bummer when you are talking then suddenly all you hear is silence. This is really an awkward moment and it is understandable that at this kind of situation, all you want to do is to go somewhere else with someone who would appreciate talking more. But fortunately, there are tips to avoid these silent scenarios:

1. Everyone has their own spot. So try to figure out where that spot is and soon you will make your date talk more than just mere yes and no. You can start by trying to compliment him or her. Try to notice the way your date looks and the way he/she dress. This way you are making him/her feel comfortable and at ease with you. Once you have done this right, then you will be surprised at how your date will change. Try to make your date comfortable as possible just to ease his/her shyness away.

2. Try to ask questions that prompts a good answer. Also avoid questions that only try to answer a yes or no. As much a possible try to talk to your date with questions that will open more conversation and will make both of you talk and listen.

3. When your date has started talking, you should try to give respect and listen. You do not have to butt in right away. Give him/her the time to talk and wait for your turn. God communication is something that entails talking and listening. It is easier t understand someone by giving him/her the time to talk and then when it is your turn, you talk. Remember that communication is a two-way process.

4. Sharing points of view is one great way to communicate and at the same time get to know each other well. You have to listen to what your date has to say on a topic you have been talking about. Again, two-way communicating is very important here.

Dating should be fun and without fun it is not dating at all. If you find your date too quiet, all you have to do is to let him/her feel comfortable and just be funny all the time. You also have to initiate the move to make him/her talk to you more. Good luck!
