subject: Rascal Flatts Tickets - Readies New Album With New Label [print this page] In preparation for their next record, contemporary country music trio Rascal Flatts has announced their November release Nothing Like This will be released with a new label. After making it big with "Prayin' for Daylight," bassist Jay DeMarcus, vocalist Gary LeVox and guitarist Joe Don Rooney have said that the move to Big Machine Records is "a perfect fit."
Rascal Flatts doesn't need much commercial exposure to see Billboard success and will move from the Disney Music Group's Lyric Street to the indie music label, also home to country star Taylor Swift. The new release will appear for country music fans Nov. 16 and complement Rascal Flatts' flourishing library, which will remain with the Disney Music Group. "Rascal Flatts are the biggest band in country music and we're honored and thrilled to have them join the Big Machine Records family. While they are celebrating their first ten years together I selfishly can't wait to start on their next ten years," said Big Machine Label Group President/ CEO Scott Borchetta in a press release. The group said that the new label is a group of individuals who are there to push the top selling country musical group even further.
"Scott understands us, he knows what we're about and it's always a wonderful thing to have someone who believes in you and your music that much in your corner," DeMarcus said in a press statement.
Rascal Flatts is currently on tour in support of their sixth studio set, Unstoppable. The 2009 album featured the country radio favorites in support of the winter Olympics when their title track was rewritten for the athletes. Other singles that fans have been line-dancing to over the past few months include "Love Who You Love," "She'd Be California," "Summer Nights," "Here Comes Goodbye" and "Forever." The singles have been getting promotions since last summer, when the April 2009 album was released, but in true Rascal Flatts fashion the group has prepared another album within two years time.
While it seems like Rascal Flatts has long defined country music, it has only been since 2000 that the group became a staple in country music radio. Signing a record deal with Lyric Street Records, Nashville newcomers LeVox, DeMarcus and Rooney released their self-titled debut that same year. The first single was a smash hit ("Prayin' for Daylight") and followed up with four more favorites. Melt appeared in 2002, which went platinum in just eight weeks with the crossover success of "These Days."
Their singles are favorites throughout various genres and keep putting them straight to the top of the Billboard charts. Their material instantly fell into the modern country category with the pop melodies and catchy lyrics, though with 2004's Feels like Today and 2006's Me and My Gang it was apparent their brand was based in the most basic country roots.
