subject: Can I Pay Couriers With A Credit Card [print this page]

Every courier company has their own policy about what payment methods they do or do not accept, but there are some general trends across the industry that are fairly easy to spot. Although one Alabama courier may have a different policy on what payment methods they accept, you can generally expect that most of them are going to accept credit cards in some manner as a method of payment.

The difference between most courier companies isn't whether or not they accept credit cards anymore. Now it is more about what methods they will use to allow you to pay with your credit card. There are a number of different ways that they may choose to invoice you and charge your card, and these differ between the various companies more than whether or not they accept credit cards at all.

Some courier companies still don't like to accept credit cards more than they have to. The way that these companies combat this with the appearance of accepting credit cards, is to insist that people who want to pay with credit cards come into their office. This inconvenience often makes clients look to other payment methods.

There are other courier companies that will actually allow you to pay their couriers when they come to your location. They carry mobile payment processing solutions with them that allow them to collect on any outstanding invoices.

The next possibility is that the courier company will simply automatically bill your credit card whenever your account payment comes due. Most courier companies run on an account system, where you need to hold an account in order to ship with them. Then, on whatever schedule you have agreed upon, whether that is monthly, bi-weekly, or weekly, they will automatically bill your card.

Other courier companies will provide you with the means to pay with your credit card online. This is a method which is becoming more and more popular, as more customers are asking couriers for ways to pay their bills online. Some courier companies will do a direct invoice that you can pay with a credit card. Others will be set up to send invoices with PayPal that you can then pay with your credit card.

If you do want to pay with credit card, it always pays to double check and make sure that the courier accepts your particular type of credit card. Most that accept cards will accept all types, but it's always important to check.
