subject: 1000 Calorie Challenge - Can You Handle It? [print this page]

The 1000 Calorie Challenge is a new workout program by Joel Marion and Arnel Ricafranca. It is designed for anyone who is trying to lose excess body fat as fast as possible. I have downloaded all of the reports and done through the 1000 Calorie Challenge videos to see what they have to offer. And this is what I have come up with.

The outline of the program is slightly advanced. There are many funky names to some of the phases that you will be going through like the term G-Flux.

G-Flux is a term popularized by Dr. John Berardi. He is a leader in the field of exercise science and nutrition. To keep things simple, G-Flux is when you burn a tremendous amount of calories through out the day, but also ingest a large amount of calories. Ideally, this allows you to burn body fat and build muscle at the same time.

This is one element of the 1000 Calorie Challenge Program.

Another element I liked about were the sample workouts. A lot of these workouts can be done in the comfort of your own home if you have the equipment available. They involve a lot of free weight movements that are paired in super sets or compound sets. This allows you to perform a lot of work in a small amount of time. Thus, you burn more calories during the workout and after you finish.

The one thing I did not like about the program was that it can be misleading and put some people off. For example, if you are a beginner, there is no way you can burn a thousand calories in a workout. You would pass out on the floor. You have to gradually build up to this level, which can be done in a shorter amount of time than most would think.

Overall, it seems like a solid weight loss program, however there are some key things missing that I feel would be ideal for your success.
