subject: Perform These Exercises To Build Your Lower Legscalf Muscles [print this page]

There are several muscles which make up the lower leg or the calf area, and the two main ones are the gastrocnemius and soleus.

Believe it or not, there are individuals who would go through cosmetic surgery in order to have a good-looking shape for their lower legs.

However, I would like you to give these two exercises a try if you are thinking of having cosmetic surgery, and see if you can spare some money and time recovery from the surgery.

I can"t guarantee that you will build impressive calves, but practice them for a few weeks or months and see if they are working for you or not.

Exercise One

This exercise requires you to do a two-in-one exercise, sort of. Here is how you do it:

-Stand facing a wall so you can balance and support yourself when you perform the heel raises

-Lift your heels as high as you can, and then lower them down but don"t touch the floor

-Repeat this motion until you feel a somewhat burning sensation as a result of building a by-product called lactic acid

-After that, start walking fast (but not a jogging pace) on the tips of your toes and/or the ball of feet, forward and backward so you can stimulate the muscles through a different motion plane.

Exercise Two: Tip Toe Jumps

This one is on a more advanced level, or should I say a bit challenging to do. But I encourage you to practice it until you feel comfortable and confident about this exercise.

This exercise is basically done by jumping and landing on your tip toes. That way you keep the lower leg muscles working all the time and via the plyometric type of pace.

This exercise can be done with balance support by using a railing, wall, or something else that is sturdy and safe for your hands to use. Or you can just perform it without balance support if you are able to, and the latter will be even more effective.

I recommend performing one set of 20 repetitions, or you can use time, like, 20 or 30 seconds going non-stop.

The beauty of these two exercises is that you can perform them almost anywhere, and you do not need any other fitness equipment beside your body weight and your determination.
