subject: Reasons Why It Is Important To Change Out Your Car Oil [print this page]

Oil is an important part of your engineOil is an important part of your engine. We always have heard that oil changes are important for the health of your car. But why is it so important?

The reason is because oil is critical for the health of your engine. You have to change the oil so that it remains clean. Oil is there to lubricate the engine, cool it down, and keep it clean.

Oil works to protect your engine. Oil works as a buffer against its many moving parts. The oil softens the amount of friction that is going on in the engine, and decreases the heat the engine produces.

Not having enough oil causes that protective oil layer to no longer be in effect. That means that your engine's metal parts will be hitting and grinding in to each other. This can cause a lot of issues for your engine, including melting, breakage and extreme heat.

If you run your car without enough oil you can possibly ruin your engine. It is imperative that you have the proper amount of oil if you don't want to deal with expensive Utah auto repairs. If you do notice a problem with keeping the oil levels up, take the car in to your Utah auto repair mechanic to see if it is an issue with leakage or overheating.

The other reason that you want to change out your oil is because oil breaks down. Over time your oil will stop working properly, and will become more thick and sticky. This will not protect your engine very well.

Motor oil is only meant to be used a certain amount of time before it goes bad. You don't want to have dirty, old oil working in your engine. Dirty oil can cause the similar issues to those listed above, and will ruin your engine.

Getting your oil change does not take a lot of effort. It is a lot cheaper than having to take your car in for an expensive Utah auto repair to fix the entire engine. Take the time to change out your oil regularly to keep the engine working well.
