If you want to learn a quick and easy up close impromptu magic trick, look no further. This simple card trick will convince that you have unimaginable psychic powers and telekinetic skills. It's a great introduction into other card tricks, and will quickly make you the most popular person at the party or bar.

This is how the trick will look to you pals. You're seated around a table at a party or a bar, talking about anything. You mention in an "oh by the way," fashion that you've recently picked up some telekinetic skills. They will obviously cease whatever they've been talking about, and demand a demonstration. Naturally, since you've just discovered these potent skills, you can only move little objects. Needless to say, you tell them that you haven't learned to lift up pool tables or anything like that.

You provide a deck of cards, take one out at random, and place it on the back of your hand. You invoke the enchanting forces of Zeus, or your preferred god whenever you use your telekinetic powers, and the card amazingly starts to flex in accordance to your potent psychological will. After the card has bent in accordance to your immense clairvoyant vitality, you claim that you have only researched enough to bend one card, and you need a rest. Then you quickly steer the discussion back to whatever you were speaking about before.

This is the key. Before you announce your special capabilities, rub some water on the back of the hand that you are going to place the card on. You will require an inexpensive, non-laminated deck of cards. The inexpensive cards will be permeable, and will obviously soak up that water that you have deftly rubbed on your hand. When it does this, it will naturally bend toward the curvature of your hand, astonishing your buddies in the process.

This is one of those tricks that demand you talk a very good game both prior to and following the illusion. If you just say, "Hey guys, look at this," they'll most likely guess the trick. But if you build it up, and tell an exciting story beforehand, (get it, before hand?) and speedily cover it up with another story after the fact, it will go over much better.

Needless to say, if you understand any other simple card tricks (that don't demand the whole deck, considering that you've just ruined one of the cards) this would be a terrific time to pull them out. Presently there are numerous basic tricks that do not require you to be playing with the entire deck. This is a terrific introduction to some wonderful tricks that you can amuse your close friends with, or if you get lucky, start to appeal to a crowd of excited onlookers. Enjoy the fun.
