subject: Learning Something New And Relaxing Can Be Pleasant And Useful [print this page]

Some students think that learning and extracurricular activities are two sides of the same coin. However, it is necessary to focus on one of these activities and use the other one as a method of acquiring additional information and skills. In this respect, we can learn something new as a part of extracurricular activities. Though some extracurricular activities are aimed at making students more relaxed and less stressed with regard to the learning process and different types of assignments, it is necessary to take into account knowledge that can be gained in the process of doing something pleasant.

Learning and reading, watching TV, listening to the radio

Though most students think that extracurricular activities should be related to theater, drama, photography, sports, and other types of activities highly popularized in college-themed movies, other activities are still popular and useful. As the most important goal of extracurricular activities is to distract you a bit from the learning process, it is really useful to gain knowledge and skills without getting bored.

1.Reading is useful in terms of additional information that can be further used in the learning process. You can read books and some specialized journals that you find interesting. Besides, you can read some online articles related to your major. Fiction can be useful for your overall erudition and intelligence.

2.Watching TV can be useful for the learning process in terms of certain information broadcasted on TV. News and series can be used to provoke white-board discussion in class. For instance, you can learn about some events on TV and discuss this idea in class.

3.Listening to the radio is similar to watching TV because it enables you to acquire certain information. Moreover, you can listen to music and learn something new.
