Avoiding the usual over the top, big budget CGI campaigns that sports companies usually use, Umbro have chosen a retro pop-art style. The advertising campaign has been created by a relatively unknown Manchester agency who said they wanted to shy away from the usual dark ominous billboards you see looming over high streets.

In a recent interview with FourFourTwo magazine, Pel recalls the hype surrounding the club, "When we started to win, we had a really big bunch of names in the crowd: movie stars, sports stars, pop stars, politicians, artists... Robert Redford, Muhammad Ali and Mick Jagger all came. Andy Warhol, Elton John, Henry Kissinger too-every game, there was someone there. It was fantastic."

To celebrate their return, the original club's kit supplier Umbro has singed a deal to provide something special. The new kit is a clear inspiration of the originals with a distinct retro style but the manufacturing quality of a modern kit.

Sunderland striker Darren Brent stars in the adverts despite having never acted as a face for the brand or even any other major endorsement. Brent has had a handful of appearances for the England squad and an extensive professional career and is currently sponsored by Umbro.

The revival of the club was announced in August 2010, 33 years to the day of Pel's last match with the club and of his career. The club is not only committed to bringing back a once great football team but also helping to improve the future of football. The focus will be on significant investment in grassroots and youth football, with the provision of an elite training program and opportunities for talented youngsters.

The design for the new Manchester United away shirt will be white with a black and red trim and bold chevron prints on the sleeves. The home kit will be sporting a collar for the first time since Nike became the official kit supplier in 2002. The new sponsor Aon features in a large bold print on the chest. On the inside of the shirt, underneath the logo is the club's mantra "believe" which sits next to the heart.
