subject: Final Fantasy Xiv (ffxiv) Leveling Guide [print this page]

Players have the ability to team up and play with their friends in Final Fantasy XIV Online. Your part can have as little as 6 members or as many as 8. The enemies are more advanced and will be scattered all over, not just static in a single area. A skill-based progression has been devised for FFXIV. You can create different avatars to be used for the various character races within the game.

Group and individual game play are balanced in FFXIV Online. By holding different weapons or crafting tools, players have the ability to choose their favorite avatars, such as the Gladiator or Thaumaturge. There are four disciplines that define the roles of the players, which are known as Disciples of Magic, Disciples of War, Disciples of Land and Disciples of Hand.

The appearance of the player will change based upon the crafts that they use and the crafting system has been included in with the armory system. For example, if you were to hold a Blacksmith hammer, you would turn into a Blacksmith. The harvesting tools that are available also work in this manner.

There are 5 playable races within FFXIV. Those races are the Miqo'te, Roegadyn, Lalafell, Elezen and Hyur. The various city states within the game include Ul'dah, Limsa Lominsa and Gridania.

There are both Midlanders and Highlanders within the race of the Hyurs. With a large emphasis being placed upon education, the Midlanders pride themselves on being very cultured. The Highlanders, however, are physically larger than the Midlanders and are also much bulkier in size. Midlanders can be either male or female, while the Highlander race is only comprised of male characters in the game.

Elvish-looking characters make up the Elezen race. Their people are divided into the Wildwood Elezen and the Duskwight Elezen. With skills such as an incredible sense of hearing, the Duskwights live in the caves and caverns. And with skills such as an amazing sense of sight, the Wildwoods tend to stay within the forests.

Living in the southern-most regions, the Lalafells are the smallest of the humanoid race. However, they are known for their amazing agility and incredible intelligence. Dunesfols and Plainsfolk are the division within the Lalafells.

From the northern-most regions come the Roegadyns, who are known for being very large and muscular physically. This race is divided into Sea Wolves and Hellsguard.

Cat-like humanoids known as the Miqo'tes are divided into groups known as the Keepers of the Moon and the Seekers of the Sun.

Understanding all these fundamentals of FFXIV not only can you reduce your learning curve, you can also speed up your leveling rate, earn your Gils fast and conquer the entire game.
