subject: Verizon's Version Of The Galaxy S Series Phone, The Fascinate [print this page]

On the 7th of September, 2010, Verizon Wireless sent out the official press release regarding the pricing and release date of Samsung Fascinate, the latest of Samsung's Galaxy S Android phones.

So, if you have been waiting for the Fascinate (and somehow missed the news), you don't have to wait any longer since it has been available online from 8th September 2010 and in stores from 9th September 2010. If you do not have the time or effort to spare for visiting the store, you could order your Fascinate from the Verizon Wireless website. If instead you care to have a look at the phone before you spend money on it, then go to your nearest Verizon Wireless store. You're able to purchase the Samsung Fascinate for $199.99, provided you are willing to consent to a two year customer agreement along with it. That is, you would have to subscribe to a Verizon Wireless Nationwide Talk plan, whose prices start at $39.99 per month, as well as an Email and Web for Smartphone plan, the prices of which start at $29.99 per month (for unlimited web access). You will have to pay $299.99 upfront (for the handset) and will get a mail in rebate of $100.

There is more to the Verizon deal. When you purchase the Fascinate, you are also given the option of buying a "free" one also. As a matter of fact, it is not really free since you will have to pay for the two year customer agreement including the Email and Web plan. And, you will have to pay $400 when you buy. But you are certainly entitled to a $100 mail in rebate for each phone. The mail in rebate will be in the form of a debit card which can be used anywhere where debit cards are accepted, just like ordinary debit cards.

There is also several Samsung Fascinate accessories, including batteries and handsets and Bluetooth devices. Along with the Samsung Fascinate handset and others, you also have the option of buying a few accessories including a charging cradle for $29.99, a car dock for $39.99 and a backup battery charging system for $49.99.

The charging cradle also includes a micro USB wall adapter, which allows people to view movies, listen to music etc. It also allows you to use the Fascinate to make hands free calls. The cradle is loaded with Samsung "Desk Home" application which gives you single-touch access to Samsung Widgets and Bing Voice Search. You can also use it to change brightness levels from day to night. The car dock can be used to attach your Fascinate to either windshield or dashboard, so that you can use the navigator for turn-by-turn navigation. It also has a "Car Home" application similar in function to the "Desk Home". The backup battery charging system includes a 1500 mAH battery, battery charger and Y-cable for charging both battery and phone at the same time.
