These parks contain the Charles and Marie Hamel Memorial Park, the Bickham Dickson Park and the Veterans and Freedom Park. The Charles and Marie Hamel Memorial Park is a 17 acre park designed for picnics, scenic views of the Red River, off-road bicycle trails and a boat launch located on Clyde Fant Memorial Parkway at Stoner Avenue outside downtown Shreveport. The Bickham Dickson Park is a 585 acre facility that offers walking trails, picnic areas and equestrian trails situated at 2283 Bert Kouns. The Veterans and Freedom Park is a 23 acre park which serves to honor war veterans who have given their lives in exchange for their service to the country.

Lastly, there are quite a lot of golf courses to choose which range from amateur to pro levels. There are a good number of them due to Shreveports unique location. The place is open, serene and full of greenery bed making it an ideal venue for golf. Some of these golf courses include East Ridge Country Club, Southern trace Country Club, Champion Links, Querbes Park Golf Course, Jerry Tim Brooks Golf Course, Shreveport Country Club and many more. Meanwhile, other sports in the area include baseball and rugby; both are members of sports associations in the country.

Shreveport is indeed an ideal place for those who wish to spend time with nature while marveling at the historic mansions, watching events at the parks or even play golf. Its the place to visit if youre looking for a serene and relaxing place to go to on your next vacation.
