Everybody wants to get in shape, and have that lean sexy body that will attract the attention of admirers and would be lovers. So how do we get there? I'll give you a couple of tips in this article that will propel you to success, and give you pleasure every time you look at yourself naked in the mirror.

There are basically two kinds of exercise. The first kind is long and relatively slow, and burns the oxygen you breathe for energy, as well as store energy in the form of blood sugar, or if you're at it long enough, body fat. Usually people that want to lose weight choose this kind, as it has the potential to burn fat directly.

The other category is when you do short bursts of exertion. Sprinting, running up and stairs or hills, any kind of weightlifting are examples of this. You can only do these until you run out of breath because they only depend on your existing blood sugar for energy. People that want to lose weight don't usually think of these as weight loss exercises.

But there is a mistake in thinking that running or cycling is the only way to lose weight. What people overlook sometimes is that when you do short, high intense exercises, these will build up your muscles, which in turn will increase your metabolism. And a higher metabolism means more fat burning, all the time.

If all you do is long, slow exercise like running and cycling, you won't increase your resting metabolism by very much. In fact, you may actually decrease it, as your body becomes much more efficient in burning calories, so it may actually reduce the amount of food you need to eat.

When you combine both of these, you will see the maximum benefit. By doing weight training, or body weight exercises you can increase your fat burning metabolism. And by running, you can supercharge this. Some people choose to do one kind one day, and the other kind the next day. Others forge ahead and do both, every day.

Whichever method you choose, by combining these you are sure to maximize your weight loss efforts. Before you know it you will have a lean, sexy body and will be the envy of all your friends.
