subject: Mount Your Plasma Tv With Ease [print this page]

When purchasing your first plasma television, you may be leery about mounting such a large object on the wall especially if you are not very handy. The best viewing from these large screen televisions however comes when they are mounted and it is actually very simple to mount these televisions on the wall while insuring that they stay put.

The first thing that you will need is a wall mount. Some plasma televisions come with them and some don't so the first thing to do is find out if you need to buy one separately or not. Once you acquire the proper wall bracket, then you are ready to mount it.

Next you will need to make some marks on the wall using a level to insure that your television is hung up straight. It can be impossible to fix after it is mounted, so be sure to double and triple check to make sure your marks are perfectly straight.

The third step is going to be to mark your holes. Now it is important to try and get at least one of them in a beam. This will help you to secure the wall bracket properly. You can use a stud finder, but if you live in an old house, the stud finder may not work for you and you can tap on the wall gently to see where the beams are. If you can't find a beam then you will have to use the mollies to hang your television wall bracket and these must be inserted into the holes into the wall prior to putting up the wall mount.

Since there are plenty of extra holes on most plasma TV brackets it is advisable to add a few extra bolts, especially if you are not sure if you have found a beam or have been unable to locate one. Once you have secured the wall mount to the wall, the difficult part is done, now just hook the brackets on the back of the television and hang it on the wall mount. Tighten the screws on the back and your television is secure and safe on the wall. No need to worry, by following these simple instructions you can hang your plasma television successfully and securely on any wall.
