subject: Distinctive 2010 Scholarships [print this page]

Depending on the student and some unique characteristics, scholarship programs may well be accessible. Most people know about scholastic and academic scholarships. Apart from sports and academics, most people trust that the only other types of scholarship programs are from generous endowments and corporations. Although these are the most common, there is another collection of scholarship that very few people know about. These are the scholarship programs for the unique, and often odd, learner.

Not several students realize that there are a multitude of scholarships to be had to them. Depending on the scholar, there might be several 2010 scholarships available for people based upon their interests or physical characteristics. As an example, if you are excessively tall or fat, or perhaps a vegan, there are specific scholarships for which you would qualify.

The list of offered scholarship programs is actually amazing; especially when you start looking into the requirements to receive a particularly unique tuition award. Depending on the benefactor who arranged the scholarship, the requirements can range from relatively benign scholastic achievements to something wholly distinctive, such as the ability to speak a Star Trek language. In the latter statement I am referring to the Klingon Language Institute, KOR Memorial Scholarship (yes it is a genuine scholarship.)

For several of those odd scholarships, receiving the award may well be as effortless as applying for it. For the reason that the actual scholarship program may be extremely unknown your actual competition will likely not be significant.

The easy moral of the tale is that if you find a scholarship that you qualify for, and require the funds for school, you should apply for it. Very seldom will a scholarship wholly offset the cost of tuition. on the other hand, every little bit helps.
