Time will come when governments will have no need to impose taxes on sugary drinks to limit the consumption of daily sugar. Researchers are hopeful that food companies will come forward and start using less sugar in the food items. All this will help control national obesity problem and reduce heart disease in some way.
Government can reduce the consumption of sugar. If half a cent sales tax is imposed on sugary soft drinks, the consumption of these drinks would reduce 10 gallons annually.
Not only heart disease but also other health problems like obesity, diabetes, hypertension and stroke are all related to sugar intake. In fact, the present research has again confirmed the fact that excessive sugar is in no way positive for health.
