People always try to find a way to acquire light during the night. Long ago, people used lamps made from a piece of clothe soaked in animal fat or oil as a source of light. Today, because of the new technology people are able to ""see"" even at night. The invention of fixtures enables us to make dark places become bright and visible.
Fixed Lights
* Recessed - It is a type of light fixture that is installed inside a hollow opening, usually in a ceiling. A recessed light has two parts, the housing and the trim. The housing which is fixed in the ceiling and contains the lamp holder is the fixture itself. On the other hand, the trim, is the visible portion of the light. It includes the thin lining around the edge of the light.
* Surface-mounted - This light is literally the name itself. It is a light mounted on the surface.
* Emergency or Exit - It is a type of surface-mounted light that is connected to an outlet or a battery and has a backup power if the main power fails. The device usually automatically turns on when the main power dies.
* Outdoor - You can find a lot of different types of outdoor lights.
* Street - These are the types of light that are used to light our streets and sidewalks at night. There are many light manufacturers who are producing LED and Photovoltaic lights for a more energy-efficient lights compared to ordinary bulbs.
* Flood - These are used to brighten football fields, playgrounds, work zones and similar places during nighttime.
* Security - It is a very bright kind of light. They are mainly used in urban areas, behind homes, commercial prisons, military camps, and prison camps. They are made bright for security purposes.
It is very important for us to see our surroundings clearly especially at night time for security reasons.
With lights, we can be able to move around, our kids can be able to study their lessons at night and these lights help us drive safely and see the road so that accidents can be avoided.
