At present, many websites earn profit from advertisement, for example, flash ad , which is the most effective measure of advertising. Flash ad always takes impact on the design of a website in some way, no matter how much attention the designers pay to advertisements in the website's layout.

It will be perfect that the designers has considered the flash ad slots in design laid out the website accordingly. Thus, the flash ads can be located in a specific area and won't disrupt the flow of content or information in the website. However, if ads are not adequately taken into consideration during the design process, they may look out of place and disrupt the rest of the website.

Therefore, making flash ads incorporated in the website is a quite important job for the designers. Before design, we need to be aware of the aspects of flash ads' impact in website design: Layout and Spacing, Color, and Flow.

Layout and Spacing

Usually, as a mean of advertising, flash ad can easily take up much space in the layout of a website. In that case, some website may spread out various advertisements throughout the website, and the others will leave the rest of the website ad-free by confining the flash ads to a specific area.

However, some websites such as industries and niches tend to take similar approaches. For example, most news website spread throughout the layout of the wesbsites with advertisements typically. There are few flash ad in any one specific area in these news websites, but many spots there contain some flash ads. As to blog websites, on the contrary, they usually set banner ads contained within a designated area of the layout such as sidebar, and the rest of the blog may has no flash ad.

Colors

Flash banner ads are usually colorful and bright, so that they are easily got attention by the visitors. If a website is designed with a lot of different colors and shades, it may be conflicted with the flash ads that are also full of color, and the website may look awkward and busy.

A muted color scheme will prevent from potential color overload for visitors, and it is usually needed for the webiste with lots of flash ads. To some extent, flash ad is helpful for these websites attracting more attention, and that's why the colors become so effective and important in design.

Flow

It is challenging for the designers to present the important information for any websites so as to draw visitors' eyes. Flash ad can infulence the flow of content in website's layout as well as the eyes' movement on screen. Therefore, the location of flash ads may bring about the most flash ad revenue and best result, that maximize flash ad revenue is mainly locating ads where the eyes are drawn to.

Those who want some ad revenue but with minimal impact on the visitor will avoid flash ad being the primary flow of content. Take blogs for example, they ususally place flash ad in content of the post or the sidebar. Flash ad below or above post title is easily seen and clicked by more visitors than flash ad in the sidebar, so they will sell at a higher rate. Designers need to make proper decision in order to get flash ad implemented in the design of website.
