Make way for Golden Oak, the latest addition to Walt Disney World Resort. During a time when Florida luxury properties are selling for record lows, and foreclosures are sweeping the nation, Disney is launching an upscale vacation home development. Named after the original Disney ranch in Placerita Canyon, California, Golden Oak will be a family-oriented, amenity-laden community with homes priced between $1.5 and $8 million.

Located near Fort Wilderness Campground and the entrance to Magic Kingdom, residents will be close enough to the action to hear the park train whistle blow. Homeowners will likely include those already enamored with the Disney experience and anxious to reap some of the benefits of living here, including private VIP transportation around the park, access to Disney special event tickets, and extra in-park benefits.

Initially, 30 homes will be unveiled, but upon completion a forecasted 450 luxury residences will grace the 980 acre development, with over half the property set aside for preserved land or water features. In addition to the Disney World perks, other amenities will include:

Summerhouse: This private clubhouse will offer fine dining, outdoor patio, fitness facility, yoga studio and special events such as wine tastings and guest chef appearances.

Concierge Services: Just say the word, and this helpful group will do everything from booking a tee time, to stocking your shelves with groceries, or decorating your home for the holidays. Since Golden Oak will primarily be vacation destination, the concierge will also ready your home for your arrival, or close it after you leave.

Four Seasons Resort: Located right in the Golden Oak community, this 445-room hotel offers a golf course, spa, restaurants, and meeting facilities.

The four different neighborhoods in Golden Oak include:

Carolwood: 17 home sites, varying in size up to three-quarters of an acre, located in a private setting surrounded by nature.

Carolwood Reserve: 8 premium lots will be reserved boasting views of the golf course, water or natural scenes. These are all three-quarters of an acre, designed for larger custom homes and geared toward large families.

Silverbrook: The 19, one-half acre lots sit adjacent to conserved land or water. Residents are walking distance to Summerhouse, the Golden Oak private clubhouse.

Kimball Trace: These private, courtyard-style homes designed with a Tuscan theme are also close to the action at Summerhouse.

Builders of all the above homes will be pre-approved by Disney, and styles must be in accordance with the overall theme. Suggested architectural styles include, Tuscan, Spanish Revival, Venetian, Italianate, Dutch Colonial and Island Colonial.

Anyone interested in purchasing property at Golden Oak can have their name added to the Priority Reservation List. To secure your position, simply complete a Lot Release Priority Agreement, and submit a $25,000 refundable deposit.
