subject: Scholarship funds [print this page]

These funds are generally administrated by the Scholarship Administration office, and money is justified with bills that the university has to give each year to the donors. A university can also affiliate with a scholarship granting foundation, and thus scholarship fund is instituted. The organization can receive donations and so the university. The two institutions gather money together for placing it into a scholarship fund. An individual can also grant scholarships, or just one scholarship. It basically depends on how generous the donor is or on how much he can afford to give away.

If the organization also grants scholarships, than the university has nothing to do with the scholarship fund, because this falls all into the organizations hands. Such a foundation does not only give money to college students, but also to master students or Ph.d., and even to high school students, especially if they are in the need of economical aid. Other than this, the scholarship funds have to be very well established. Some universities or organizations, give all types of scholarships, and other can give just one single type of scholarship divided into more than just two sections, but also, some organizations or educational institutions can grant only one single type of scholarship and the most common are the economical aid scholarship, and the excellent results scholarship.

If the economical aid scholarship can be given to students with medium scores that need money to support themselves through study years, the excellent results scholarship is only granted to students with maximum scores, and students with excellent achievements.

Scholarships fund can also be raised at special donor parties organized by the university or by the foundation that deals with scholarship fund raising.

All the awards are granted from special donations made by people or organizations, and all of these scholarships have terms and conditions for granting, but also to maintain. The special scholarship fund is divided from the award funds and is given only once, to the best student at graduation.
