subject: Weston Super Mare For The Whole Family! [print this page] Weston Super Mare is a small seaside town on the seventh estuary. If you haven't already visited the West Country Weston makes an ideal location for a short break, day out or even longer holiday for the whole family. We are not hard to find or get to as we are just 2 miles of the M5 motorway or can reached by rail.
The promenade and seafront has recently undergone a major facelift and upgrade bringing it firmly into the 21st-century and making it a very fashionable and stylish West Country town to visit. It also offers great entertainment for every single member of the family.
The grand Pier has recently been totally rebuilt and is the third Pier to stand on this site. In 2008 it was devastated by fire and totally burned out, however perhaps this is not such a bad thing as the new Pier is one of the most modern in Europe in which you could spend hours being entertained.
The Weston beaches are really lovely and comprise of clean golden sand. The main beach is approximately 1 mile long and beach parking is available.
The Bristol Channel however has one of the highest tides in the world which means the sea can often be more than a kilometre away making swimming difficult. However, children and adults alike can be safely in the Weston Marine Lake.
It's great for the children as the beach is deep and very spacious meaning you can be amongst the crowds if you wish, or find a quiet spot where you will not be disturbed if that's what you desire. The beach keeps up the old English tradition of donkey rides, and has lots of entertainment available for the young ones such as sand sculptures and you will not have to walk too far to get an ice cream or hot dog.
The town is really well serviced by hundreds of quality cafes and restaurants and snack bars, so you won't go hungry. If you're stopping over you will find that Weston also offers a wide variety of evening entertainment.
